It’s not just a game!

“It’s not just a game”

India - a country which has 80% of the population as Hindus, 14% as Muslims & the remaining percentage as others. Hence, each religion tries to dominate the other by various means, be it colour, culture, caste or status… Even the citizens of the country are interesting! We saw some political parties asking for vote under the name of their religion, someone claiming that an incident like “Rape” is not a big deal, someone killing innocents in the name of caste & religion & many such cases. We have witnessed all these incidents in the past. However, there’s ONLY ONE TIME when all these negativity, hatred & devil thoughts are kept aside & the whole country with a population of 1.22 billion focuses on just one thing,  Cricket World Cup “IND vs PAK” match!
Apart from the various religions & Gods that we Indians worship, there’s one more religion which is common for all & every Indian follows be it Hindu or a Muslim, “Cricket” & the God of Cricket, none other than “Sachin Tendulkar”. Though, it’s not the national game of the country however the passion & craziness seen behind this game can’t be expressed in words. Yes, we follow cricket religiously however we still see each other from a religious point of view but whenever the game is between India & Pakistan, the whole country unites & we call ourselves as Indians. Whenever the game is on, it’s almost like a national holiday as even the PM’s eye is on the television. So why so much chaos for this particular match? Why the discussion is all over (social platforms, while travelling, between friends, colleagues, offices & even partners) a month before the schedule? Why so much debate on television, advertisements, news, etc on this subject? Why there’s a loss of more than 1000 million productive hours as more than 15 million people (on an average) spend their time only for this particular match? Why companies are worried about their employees leave requests & unplanned absenteeism?

Well, the whole world knows that the two neighbouring countries don’t get along very well. Every second day we hear some or the other news about their rivalries on issues like border, Kashmir, political, terrorism & many more. It’s only the Indian army, few Police officials & the government who gets the opportunity to reciprocate their action & civilians like us just watch the news, talk about it & express ourselves through social media. India vs Pakistan Cricket match is the only time when Indians get the opportunity to see a live war between the two & remove their frustration & anger in front of the television by creating the atmosphere through yelling, motivating, cheering, etc. The aggression between players of both the team is a must watch. Both dig the graves & refresh their wounds of incidents that took since 1947 till date & then play with that zeal to dominate & criticize each other (at least on the ground).
So the breathe taking moment, February 15th, 2015, the day when we’ll be seeing both these rivals again on the field is just around the corner. We hope to see an awesome cricket experience & this date becoming a memorable day in the history of these two countries.

--- THE OBSESSION --- We all dint realize when our communication went from telegraph, telephone, etc to Skype & Facebook. Now since we are talking about Facebook or Twitter i.e. Social Networking which started from fantasy & passion, slowly & steadily became more of an "OBSESSION". I guess it wont be wrong if I say that likes, followers, shares, connections, etc shows ones credibility in the virtual world. Creating your identity on the virtual world is good but at what cost? As per sources, users are just adding unknown & unwanted people to their friendlist, sharing their personal photos & posts, etc. The reason to do these kind of activities could be many but the ultimate goal is to have a huge fanbase/followers which will result in getting maximum likes/re-tweets on ones post but that's not all. Checking others friendlist or likes on their post & then comparing it with yours, isn't that's what we call obsession? Guys, social media
--- YOUR SOCIAL PRESENCE PLAYS AN IMPORTANT ROLE FOR YOUR FUTURE EMPLOYER--- Have you recently applied or been/planning for an interview? Ever noticed that the form which you are supposed to fill also asks for you social networking info? Well, that not for the employers to send you a friend request or to follow you. The best of you is already mentioned on your CV but what you actually are (in real life) is displayed in your posts on the social networking platforms. According to a survey by job site CareerBuilder India, 59% employers are currently using social media to research on job candidates, while another 33% are planning to access the platform soon.  As per CareerBuilder Human Resources Vice President - Rosemary Haefner, most of the candidates are rejected on the basis of qualification discrepancy (you might have said Grad on your CV but your social profile says UG), your communication skills (the kind of language you use, sentence formation, grammar, tenses, etc issues), inap
